New small Projects

April 16, 2020April 16, 2020 markzerop

Since working on the graduation film is just a nightmare at the moment and close to impossible, I've decided to instead focus some more time to personal projects, focusing on animation and movement rather than a full production. It's nice that we leave here with a full film credit but it means I am jumping… Continue reading New small Projects

An Update to the overall film progression

April 12, 2020April 13, 2020 markzerop

I'm going to take a moment to assess the film here and how things are progressing. Any changes being made now are small tweaks and polishing rather than broad strokes, as such it difficult to continually update these changes and record them. My main focus is cleaning up the movement and motion, adding some of… Continue reading An Update to the overall film progression

Final flowers and growth effects

April 9, 2020April 9, 2020 markzerop

Throughout the film there is a number of times that flowers and plant life will spring to life and grow at an accelerated rate. So I'm going to show that here, I haven't been able to render an of this yet as it's a bit complicated at the moment but it does work and here's… Continue reading Final flowers and growth effects

Head Sculpting

April 7, 2020April 7, 2020 markzerop

Being confined to staying at home, I have needed to change up my schedule quite a bit. I usually worked 7 days a week in the studio, pushing long hours, but this couldn't work from home. I've needed to keep my weekends free from studio work just to maintain my own sanity (though sometimes I… Continue reading Head Sculpting

Problems

April 7, 2020April 7, 2020 markzerop

Working from home has a number of challenges, my laptop just can't work as fast as the studio computers. Meaning at some points I have to wait a considerable amount of time just for things to load correctly, and its incredibly prone to crashes. There are some aspects of the film I just have no… Continue reading Problems

Got the bun working a little nicer! Still lots to tweak and work on but it's getting there.
A render of a current work in progress. Soon to be animated!
Slowly chipping away at this for a personal project. Can't wait to get it rigged and moving!
Working on making more realistic skin sculpting and hand painted textures. Still a lot of things to work on but I'm quite pleased with it for 4 hours of work

Started something. Hoping to finish it with a more painterly style. :)
Finally got around to playing BOTW so I decided to sculpt a goron to celebrate it. I didn't get around to finishing it but I thought I'd post it just as it is :)
I've been missing life drawing a lot lately so I decided to work on some brushes that had that same feel of conte on newsprint in photoshop. It still needs some tweaking and I can't quite get the nice darker conte lines just yet but here's a quick doodle I did to test them out
I've been playing around with this model for a few days in my spare time and thought I'd post it :) (sorry for the watermarks, I haven't committed to the full license yet) next to take it through texturing to learn some more there! #maya #arnold #robot #3d #cg #cgi #cgartist
I still have some proportions to work on and the anatomy is not quite there yet but the rough blockout is nearly complete
I've been taking the @flippednormals switching to blender course and I've had a blast going through it and getting to grips with blender. Here's the final render of the mini project that finishes the course. Now I'm looking forward to diving into some mini projects of my own and playing around with some of the other cool features hidden in blender.
Trying to get back into some animation again! I've spent the last couple of days playing around with this inbetween other projects and had a lot of fun with it. Still more to fix up but I thought I'd show what I have so far. Feedback and crits welcome!
a quick zbrush doodle of one of Chiara Bautista's drawings.
More stylised sculpts since that's what people wanted to see 😊. I thought I'd try putting a bit more effort into the presentation with this one and include a song that suits the story. Original art work from @tomwilltell
