Setting inspiration

My animation is set to take place on a wild trail up a mountain, an obscure and disused path to a long forgotten shrine. The dilapidated path has broken over the years and no longer facilitates transit, this broken nature will become the trials of movement the MC will have to overcome in order to reach his destination. My initial thought for the environment is that I would like to retain a geometric form, taking influence from some of Ian Mcque‘s sketch and concept works. The influence from his work will take two forms, the breakdown of geometric forms and the ‘sketchy’ quality of his linework mixed with the chiaroscuro concept work I have been working on. I will also be experimenting with Quill and the Oculus Rift to achieve this effect however this may still be limited by access issues.
